The HR units of Ernst & Young companies around the world are dealing with a complex and time-consuming recruitment process. The mobile recruitment app has emerged a game-changing initiative by the company’s recruitment team headed by Yelizaveta Maximets, a senior recruitment expert.

It allows potential employees and interns to easily access job opportunities and company events as well as interact with HR representatives on various recruitment issues.

Our solution

Together with our customers, the App Solutions team came to the decision to develop the app for both iOS and Android platforms.

We introduced a mobile recruitment app, making it easy to access essential company information including company basics, news and events, job vacancies and interest. Most importantly, it allows you to apply to job opportunities and receive feedback from the recruiting team in real time.

Use the technology stack

Android app, written in Kotlin in the Android SDK, supports all platform versions starting from version 4. To isolate smooth request passing and uninterrupted operation across a wide range of devices Differently, the Support and RetroFit libraries were used.

The iOS version of the app has been implemented with many libraries and APIs:

• Reactivecocoa – to speed up the overall application;
• Mantle – for in-app parsing;
• AFNetworking – to pull data from the web;
• Quartz Core – for displaying PDF documents in the application;
• OverCode – to send a request to the server.

Create a network

Making social a priority has become an inevitable and expected part of every company, so we enhanced our social media integration application using Facebook and Twitter SDKs. It serves as both a good word-of-mouth advertising weapon for the company and a communication tool, making users feel closer to the people behind the big names.

Additionally, UIkit allows the integration of clear work forms for users to fill out in just one tap. And finally, MapsKit helped integrate Google Maps into the app to pin company office locations.

Summary

A team for an Ernst & Young project includes: Project manager, technical writer, 2 developers (one for iOS platform and one for Android platform), 1 PHP developer, 1 designer, 1 quality assurance expert. As a result, a premium B2C recruitment app was released 2 months after development began.
